Description
The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) undertakes Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to fulfil its statutory obligations under Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013. The CSR activities are strategically aligned with the outcomes of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and focus on key areas such as Health, Education/Skill Development, Women Empowerment, Environmental Conservation, Promotion of Culture, Disaster/Flood Relief, Sports, and Infrastructure.
To evaluate the effectiveness and social impact of these initiatives, the Centre for Good Governance (CGG), as an independent third-party evaluator, is assessing 13 distinct CSR activities implemented across various locations surrounding SCCL's mining operations. The evaluation seeks to assess the social impact on the target beneficiaries, whether the projects are making a meaningful contribution to the well-being of the communities involved.
